AUCKLAND BANKRUPTCY.
CASE or GEORGE WELCOX.
£1000 FOR DISTRIBUTION. \ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The Official Assignee at Ashburton stated to-day that in the estate of George Wilcox, who was sentenced in Christchurch to three months' imprisonment for obtaining credit in Ashburtoii without disclosing the fact that he was an undischarged bankrupt, there is n credit balance of £810. In addition, the assignee hopes to realise £250 on the book debts, leaving about £1000 for distribution amongst the Canterbury 1 creditors, whose debts amounted to £6354. ... , . i Wilcox was declared bankrupt in Auckland in 1922, six years before he filed in Ashburton. In making the announcement at a meeting of Wilcox's creditors this morning, the assignee said that the Auckland Official Assignee claimed £756 of, the £1000. If that claim were met there would be only £250 for distribution to the Canterbury creditors. ; Mr. A. S. Nicholls was appointed to represent the Canterbury creditors at the Auckland meeting.
