LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
STATUS OP SENIOR TEAMS. RECOMMENDATIONS APPROVED. The weekly meeting of the Auckland Rugby League's management committee was held last eveaing, Mr. G. Rhodes presiding. After a lengthy discussion, the following recommendations concerning the future control and status of senior A and B teams in next season's competitions were approved. (1) A grade players be classified as a higher grade than the B division, and that applications for transfers, to a senior A Krnde team cannot be withheld. (2) Free insurance to be paid at the rate of £ 2 per week for 14 weeks. The Auckland League to defray the first doctor's expenses. (3) The insurance of B grade players to be at
the rate of £ 2 per week on payment of 7/6 premium for each player. Payments to be paid for four weeks, and thereafter at toe rate of £ 1 10/ for a second four weeks. (4) The representation of B section delegates :on the * management committee In expectation of nominations from new clubs, be considered next season. There was. also considerable discussion concengng the method of selection of referees for senior matches, and the present system of appointment, it finally being decided to confer "with the Referees' Association on the matter of selecting the appointment board. The present method of appointment of referees by the New Zealand. Council was the subject of a letter from tlie Auckland Referees' Association, the association asking that in future the New Zealand Referees' Association make all official appointments for representative matches. The committee decided to forward the request to the New Zealand League for favourable consideration. Discussion on a letter from the Devonport Borough Council asking for assistance in financing improvements to the football ground' at Devonport was deferred for a week. J It was agreed to play Ellerslle and Athletic on Saturday for the right next season to play in the A section of the senior grade competition. The New Zealand League advised that expenses would be defrayed in connection with the visit of .the Auckland representatives to Whangarei, where an exhibition game will be played on Saturday. Owing to the visit of the primary schools' representative team to the Waiktto. it was bedded to cancel all school fixtures next Saturday.
