RUGBY FOOTBALL.
THE AUCKLAND UNION. WINNING TEAMS CONGRATULATED. There was but little business to transact at the weekly meeting, of the Auckland Itugby Union's management committee last evening. The chairman (Mr. H. Frost) extended congratulations to University oh the club's win in the senior championship, and also made reference to the sporting manner in which Ponsonby had taken their defeat. Mr. Frost also congratulated College Rifles oh their win in the Pollard Cup competition, and the Poraonby third open and third intermediate teams on their successes in their respective grades. The Junior Management Board reported that permission had been granted the Eden third open team to visit Thames on Saturday. The board also reported that Mr. R. balbraith had been appointed to represent the board on the Rules Revision Committee. In connection with this matter, it was decided to hold a meeting of junior delegates on Tuesday next, at 8 p.m. Messrs. Matthews and Hoare were apJFound officials, and Messrs.
