COTTAGE DESTROYED RY FIRE
• (By -Telegraph-.—Own Correspondent.) RAWENE, Monday. A four-roomed house owned by Mr. J. Bryers on the Rawene beach and occupied by Maoris was destroyed by fire at midday to-day. The cause of the fire was a defective chimney. The cottage was insured by the Royal office. The fire brigade saved an adjoining house occupied by Mr. W. D. Young and owned by Mr. F. Thronaen, of Auckland.
