WAIKATO IN FLOOD.
STILL RISING STEADILY.
NO SERIOUS RESULTS.
EXPECTED TO SUBSIDE SOON

The Waikato River, which lias been -rising steadily for several days, in expected to reach its peak to-morrow. Extensive flooding lias occurred thtoughou't the district, but with 110 serious results. The road near Mangatawhiri Bridge, towards Tokeno, is affected >light,ly being covered with a few inches of water, but not sufficiently to retard motorists. Behind the railway station the work of raising the road has been completed, and. in consequence, it will only be susceptible ill future to exceptionally high floods. Through an invasion of water the timber mill is temporarily closed.
With continuance of the present line weather the flood water should commence to rapidly subside within the next few da vs.
