OBITUARY.
MR. ARTHUR KEENAN. The funeral took place on Sunday of Mr. Arthur Keenan at his home, Gibralter Crescent, Parnell, at the age of 68 years. Mr. Keenan was born at Howick, being a son of the late Mr. James Keenan, an old Imperial soldier. Mr. Arthur Keenan wa.i connected with coaching in the old days, being for many years in the employ of Patterson and Co. He retired about eight years ago. He was at one time master of the Howick Lodge of Oddfellows. It was on his casting vote that the first public hall was erected at Howick. Deceased is survived by Mrs. Keenan and an adult family. Many of the pioneers cf Howick district attended the funeral. MRS. SARAH LOWE. A highly respected resident of Thamce, Mrs. Sarah Lowe, died on Saturday at the age of 62 years. She was the wife of Mr. Henry Lowe, chairman of Thames County Council. During the great war Mrs. Lowe worked energetically for patriotic causes. The interment took place yesterday, when there was a large attendance of friends. MR. THOMAS HALBERT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Monday. The death occurred suddenly from heart trouble of Mr. Thomas Halbert, one of the most prominent Maori residents on the East Coast, aged 64 years. Hβ was well known throughout New Zealand, particularly in the North Island.
