RECENT FIRE AT WAIKINO. BOARDING-HOUSE DESTROYED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. It has been decided, as the result of a police investigation, to hold a coroner's inquiry into the circumstances of the fire at Waikino which destroyed a board-ing-house owned and occupied by Mrs Josephine A. McPike, on August 31 last. The damage, including thut done to a confectionery shop adjoining, amounted to £1043. The boarding-house was insured for £220 by the Guardian Office, and the furniture and contents for £3(50 by the Royal Office. The stock of the confectionery shop was insured for £30 by the Royal Office. The building, owned by Mr. J. P. Wright, of Hamilton, was insured by the Phoenix Office.
