OTOROHANGA, Friday

The annual daffodil sfiow held today by the Presbyterian Ladies’ Guild, attracted the finest collection of spring flowers seen in recent years. Some particularly choice blooms were exhibited by Mesdames Dawson, Downard, Fortescue anil Phillips, these ladies taking the leading awards. First and special prizes were won as follow :—One bl-colour trumpet, Mrs. Dawson : one sbort-eupped trumpet. ’ Mrs. Fortescue; one red cupped-trumpet, Mrs. Fortescue; one bloom hyacinth, Mrs. Fortescue.

In rhe children’s classes for a bowl of flowers. X. Alexander was awarded first and special, and for. a decorated table Phillip Phillips first and special. The town v country exhibit of 24 varieties was won by the country. - - ' — ■
