OTAGO’S DAY OUT.
BIG SCORE AGAINST SOUTHLAND.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Saturday. Carisbrook Park was in excellent order for the game between Otago and Southland to-day. A strong wind down-field favoured Otago in the first half. The attendance was 8000. The Otago forwards were in great form, particularly Carnegie and Sontag. The backs also played splendidly. Much to the surprise of the majority of the spectators, Otago rattled up 23 points in 25 minutes. Thereafter Southland played up, and frequently assailed the Otago line, but failed to cross. At halftime the score was Otago 23, Southland 0. Tries were scored by Dunne, Bradanovich, More, Marslin, and F. Donnelly, four being converted by Bradanovich. In the second spell the game was more even, but at times ragged. Otago had the better of the play throughout, Bradanovich being brilliant. Tries were scored for Otago by Bradanovich and F. Donnelly (2). For Southland Diack got a try. The final score was:— Otago 32 Southland 3
