PONSONBY CLUB.
The annual meeting- of the above club was held In the Leys Institute, Mr. Irving Clark presiding over an attendance of about 40 members. The report disclosed that the senior team was last year bracketed with Eden for the championship honours, while the other teams in the club all performed creditably. The balance-sheet showed a big improvement in the financial position, in addition to which a large amount of material in good order is on hand for the coming season. Reference was made to the fine influence that the English professional, J. Langridge, had on players, and the manner in which he had increased the enthusiasm and energy of all with whom he came in contact. Reference was also made to the very fine performance of the veteran, S. G. Smith, who scored over 400 runs and secured 48 wickets. General appreciation was expressed at the efforts of the Auckland City Council to provide better playing conditions, and the hope was expressed that extra labour would be available so that full advantage could be taken of the provision of Port Arthur soil for the wickets. . A team from the club visited Waihi and Paeroa at Easter time and had two enjoyable games. The trophies were allotted as follow: The senior cup to S. G. Smith, the junior cup to J. Mills, and the Laidlaw Cup to A. i Hoare. The opportunity, was taken of. presenting H.
