£10,000 GIFT.
NATIONAL DEBT REDUCTION. (British Official Wireless.)
(Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, September 20. A v gift of £10,000 for the reduction of the national debt has been sent to the Chancellor of the Exchequer by Mr. Oswald Dobell as "a mark of gratitude to those who voluntarily gave or risked their lives for the Empire." The Chancellor has expressed the Government's appreciation of the patriotism inspiring this generous gift.
