To Set Up Legislative Councils.
OPPOSITION IN AUSTRALIA.

CANBERRA., this day.
The Federal Government has deferred the New Guinea Bill, which was designed to create an Executive Council and a Legislative Council. There was considerable opposition to the measure and the Government is awaiting representations from New Guinea.
