The council agreed to the board's request. Eight Drurv settlers asked the council to form and drain Derbyshire and Telzlaf Streets to give residents access to their homes. It was stated that nothing could be done owing to the strained position of the riding's finances, unless the settlers concerned were prepared to contribute. Mr. H. J. The treasurer reported that since April 1, £16,688 had been expended on works out of main roads and riding accounts. An amount of £8934, including Highways Board subsidy, £5360, had been expended on the main highways in the county., The engineer was authorised to repair the Maukti bridge, on the Waiuku-Drurv main road. The estimated cost of repairs was £425. The engineer said the bridge would carry traffic for the next 12 years if this amount was expended on it, despite the fact that it was built about 60 years ago.
