NETHERTON DRAINAGE BOARD
(From Our Own Correspondent.) PAEROA, Tuesday. The newly-constituted Xetherton Drainage Board held its first meeting in the Netherton Hall yesterday, the members present being Messrs.. F. T. V. Johnson, E. A. Chester, J. H. Reid, G. Buchanan and B. Halligan. Mr. G. Buchanan was elected chairman, and Mr. J. E.' Green, who was the returning officer at the election, agreed to act as clerk until a permanent appointment was made. It was decided to calj tenders for the position of clerk at a salary of £100 for the first year. The clerk was instructed to seek information concerning a grant of £1100 for an outlet near Mr. H. Hill's property to the Awaiti Canal, and also to obtain a plan of the board's area.
