CARLTON V. THE PRESS. The annual bowling match between the Carlton Clnb.and the Printers and Press will be played at the Carlton green on Saturday next, commencing at 1.45 p.m. Tne following will represent the Press and Printers: Simmonds, Herdman, Allan, Maher; Honeycombe, Dent, A. Wright, Hacket; Kllery, P. M. Hudson, Overy, Schnackenberg ; Darby, Butler. Quin, Dixon , ; Worthington, Simm, Sheriff, Ure; O'Connor, V. G. Hudson, Humphreys, Brookes; Birch, Brown, Blewden, Kllgovir; Peggs, Taylor, Thomson, Wisbart; Winthrop, Rothemani, Pearce, Adeane; Holford, Simpson, Clarkson, Kirkham. Emergencies: Hooker, Pitze, Miles, Salmon, Stockley, Doyle, Learning. All emergencies lire assured of a game. The Carlton teams will be chosen on the ground. A full attendance of Carlton winter and summer players is requested. TAIHAPE CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE. Tuesday. The animal meeting of the Taihape Bowltag Club was held last evening, when Mr. Fred. Read presided orer a good attendance. The report for the 1927-28 season was read and adopted after the president remarked on the club's very satisfactory position, and complimented the secretary, Mr. O. C. Armstrong, on the year's work. The report disclosed that the Rangitikei Shield, which the club was successful in winning from the Northern Section was lost after a great effort in the final against Hunterville. Winners for last season are as follows:—Championship singles. Rev. E. Bandy; handicap singles, Kev. B. Bandv; Riddick Cup, Messrs, Bond and Harvey; Gruzelier Cup, Mortland, O'Neill, Bartram and Terria. Election of officers for the ensuing season J*!? , *** ■» follows .—President. Mr. H. o lallaghan; rice-president. Mr. H. D. Bond; secretary, Mr. G. C. Armstrong; treasurer, Mr. J. Mortland ; auditor, Mr. C. L. Dyxnock ; committee. Rev. E. Bandy, R, Bowie, D. Neagle, W. H. Fookes, and G. C. Armstrong. Mr. Cherry announced that Mr. W. Gray had donated foar fountain pens to the club for competition, the committee to decide play in this competition. Mr. Jas. Cherry's resignation was accept ted with deep regret.
