BURNED TO DEATH.
MAORI WOMAN 9O YEARS OU) LIVING ALONE IN WHARE. RAGLAN, Tuesday. Eangi Maunu Whareroa, a Maori woman, aged 90, was burned to death at apa near Te Mata last night. She lived alone in an old whare. . Hone Te Apa, a nephew, went to the whare about 8 p.m., after the aged woman had gone to bed. He put out her candle and extinguished the fire in the fireplace. He than returned to his own whare about 100 yard? away. It was not until five o'clock this morning that it was discovered the whare and its occupant had been burned.
