OPIUM-SMOKING RAID.

HASTINGS, this day. Detective Herbert and Sergeant Smart entered a Chinese laundry here on the off-chance of catching opium-smokers. As the result of their visit Sue Shing and Sue Ohong appeared in Court to-day charged with having opium in their possession, with smoking opium, and Harbouring opium smokers on the premises, .ascused were remanded till the 19th inst. Bail was fixed for each of the accused at £200. Bail -was forthcoming.
