An inquest was held at the Thames on Saturday afternoon into the death of John Diamond, who died suddenly at 2seavesvine the previous day. Robt. Ferguson staled that on Thursday Diamond lias in liia Uiual health, but on Friday, on going Lv his whare, he found him dyin;. r . A Jew minutes later he expired. Dr. Barclay stated that hp made a post-mortem examination, and found that the kidneys were diseased while both Jungs were affected by pneumonia. Death tis due to these affections. A verdict !was returned accordingly.
As an indication of the progress of the llount Albert district, it may be mentioned that the building committee of the Road lfcmrd at that place, at its meeting this morninn-. granted nine permits for building.-, of an aggregate value of £2349. which presents an average of :£-261 each. This brings the total for the month up to 2ti permits for buildings, valued in the aggregate at £7284, and at an average of £i! 80 each.
