THE GOLDFIELDS.
WATHI EXTENDED.
(By Tslegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. Developments at No. 4 level are affording the management every satisfaction. The general appearance of the lode is indicative of highly payable values. The reef is being taken out for a width of 8 feet without any sign of either wall. Mr R. O. Hendy, a director, paid a visit to the mine to-day, and was exceedingly pleased with its improved prospects.
THE MA^RILAND.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. The mine manager reports as follows: —"Since last report the 17 tons previously reported from No. 4 reef have been put through the mill. The assay value from the same ore, as sampled from the tip of the motor box, gives a value of £3 8/2 per ton. On June 21st the mill started crushing ore from the smithy level, and it is now running two shifts on the ore now in hand. The last month's crushing will show a fair profit. North from No. 2 rise, 18 feet below the intermediate level, No. 4 reef has been stripped 20 feet. I shall break down the reef on June 25th, and will send ore to the mill. Should it come np to my expectations, I think it would be advisable to work this block from the low level. There still remains a block of 80 feet by 53 feet to be stoped out, and I estimate this block at 300 tons."
MINERALS, I__MlT__D.
The mine manager of Minerals, Ltd., reports that the wash-up tor the week amounts to eight ounces out of 106 loads, which sold for £34 10/9.
