May Queen Extended.—The drive on the Rocky Point reef (west) is in 13ft beyond the rise, making 107 ft. At 103 ft we have driven throngh tbe quartz veins on the footwall side of the reef, which strikes back at an angle into the Adelaide veins passed through 10ft back from the face. The veins show a few colours of gold and are striking into the main reef, which bas not been broken down up to the point of junction. The main reef, as well as tho cross veins, carri. s odd colours of gold, aud the rock being passed through is of a favourable class. A trial crushing of eight loads Is being treated, but so far is of low grade. In the rise on the Adelaide west branch we are driving north from the Adelaide break, and find the leader to be intact and very promising in appearance. No quartz has yet been broken down on the north side, it being necessary to carefully timber around tho break. It was close on this break that rich ore was obtained In the upper level. Victoria. —The work in hand during the week at No. 4 level has been sinking \n winze on the hangingwall of No. 1 reef. We are taking about 3ft of the stone with us in the sink. The distance Sunk is 7ft, but so far nothing of importance has been seen. Mariner's reef (No. 2 level) maintains its width,* but no noticeable change has taken place. A distance of 7ft has been advanced, making a total of 43ft from the crosscut.

Watchman..—The level towards tbe Windfall reef has been advanced 13ft for the week. The country has been of a firmer- description for boring, but is of a favourable character for the existence of gold-bearing reefs. Waihi Extended.—The main No. 4 level has been advanced 21ft on the course of the lode. The reef has steadily gained in width, being now Bft wide and carrying veins of fair-looking mineral. The winze below the No. 4 level has been stopped pending more adequate ventilation. The air shaft has been sunk a further 10ft.

South Kapanga.—ln the main drive the .country has lven disturbed, but in tho face now the rock is very much improved, being of a much better description for gold. The north drive has been extended 7ft, and is now in 120 ft. The leader is stili split up into stringers, but the country here bas also improved very much, and when the leader makes again we may hope for better results.

RisiDg Sun.—During the week the drive on the reef going -north from the bottom of tbe winze has been poshed ahead. The reef still continues to look well. : The ore broken contains a good deal of sulphides, and colours of gold can be seen in the stone! Two men have been employed for the past week prospecting on the surface, working towards the northern boundary, but so far nothing has been met in the trenches except a few stringers.

Mt. Zeehan.—Work has been chiefly confined to getting timber and material to the mine for the erection ot huts for the men smithy, epc. "Two small huts, 12 x 10 each' also a smithy, 12 x 8, have been completed. Truck and rails feve been got to the mine, and a start made to clean ont the drive oa No. 2 reef. Balls have alio been

laid from the mouth of the drive to the tin head. About 60ft of the drive has been cleaned out, and a start made to strlD a portion of the Birthday reel on the surface. The manager expects next week to mate a start on No. 4 lode, when he hones to report more fully on the reefs in g." eral, as to size, values, etc
