EFFECT ON THS CZAR.

The "Daily Telegraph" says that when he was told the news ot" the assassination the Czar received a crushing blow. On recovering hf exclaimed. "How is it possible? Everything was -.o quiet. The strikes arc. ceasing, and the. excitement is subsiding. Whatever do they want?"
The news of tbe assassination was received in Russia generally with indifference., or with expressions of synipathv with the revolutionists.

ST. PETERSBURG. February 20.
The funeral will take place on Thursday. The body will lie at the monastery. ;it Moscow, pending its transfer to St. Petersburg;
"The Times' " correspondent says that the Czar and his faniily and Prince Henry of Prussia will attend a requiem service at Tsarskoye Selo on Thnrsdav.
The Czar has decided that a State funeral at St. Petersburg would be unsafe at present.
The Municipality of Moscow has sent letters of condolence to the widow of the Grand Duke and to the Czar.
