General H._ropat_in reports that a mixed force of Japanese and Ci»_ne__ses attacked a railway bridge fifteen miles to the north of Cunshulin, and -was repulsed. When Colonel _Lenis_y, with, a detachment of the Russian Frontier Guard, afterwards advanced, he was surrounded by sis. squadrons of Japanese cavalry, f _•"■_• companies of infantry, and two thousand Chnnc—.uses. The Russians sustained heavy losses, and lost one gun. They then retired to Cun__ulin. .
