THE PREMIER'S VISIT.
AN INCORRECT REPORT. (Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, this day. I have good reason for believing that a report emanating from Auckland that Mr Seddon and Sir Joseph Ward would jointly address a public meeting in that town on March 1 is incorrect. The Premier will not be leaving Wellington for Auckland before Tuesday week, the 28th instant, and he will probably go to the North of Auckland before ataf" ing any time in Auckland. CBy Telegraph.—Own Correspondeat.) ; WAIHI, Saturday. At a meeting last evening of the local branches of the Liberal and Labour Federation, Mr Keoghan (president of the Waikino branch) announced that a large petition was being got up for presentation to the Premier to invite him to address a public meeting at Paeroa the night before hi* arrival at Waihi. During general business Mr Donaldson expressed the hopeof having a conference with the Premier relative to an Absolute Majority Bill. X was incidentally mentioned that it was probable that an address would shortly be given in Waihi by the Hon. T. XMcDonald, M.L.C., of Wellington.
