(By Tele*rapU.-,-Own Correspondent.)
WAIHI, this day, A serious mining accident took place this morning in tbo Waihi mine, a miner named Brookling having a miraculous escape from instant death. It appears that Brookling accidentally fell into one of the mine passes, .falling a distance of 95ft. When he was picked up he was found to have been badly injured about the head -and other parts of the body, but it is considered that owing to his posture when fpiling, the force of the impact Was somewhat broken. Otherwise he wold almost certainly have been killed. A doctor was immediately summoned, and Brookling was conveyed to the hospital. The extent of his internal injuries are not yet known.
