A LOVELY MEETING.

COUNCILLOR PINED FOR CALLING NAMES: ''.'.'" BOMBARDS TEE MAYOR WITH MISSILES. (By Telegraph.— Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. There was an exceedingly lively scene at the Greytown Borough Council meeting on Monday night. After being fined £5 for referring to the Mayor as a numbskull, Councillor Bennett wished to speak, but was ruled out of order until the fine was paid. He then said, "Here goes." and hurled the minute-book at the Mayor's head, but missed. Seizing some other portable articles, Councillor Bennett continued the attack, but was grabbed by another councillor. The Mayor sent for the police, but the offending councillor retired before their arrival. The Mayor will proceed against Councillor Bennett.
