Northward the reef la broken up and Intermixed with, but as pieces of quartz are met with carrying sulphides, the manager expects soon to again pick up the reef as good as ever. Walmangn.—The No. 2 level in the Wairaangu reef waa intersected after driving 54ft in the crosscut At the point of intersection the lode is between 4 to Sft wide on the southern aide, In which direction the manager propoiea opening out on the lode. About 150 ft of driving south will be required to get under where good results were obtained on the surface. The man* ager considers the outlook encouraging as between the points mentioned the rich parcel of ore was got that was treated at the Thames School of Mine*. He therefore expects to open up an extensive block of payable ore. At No. 2 level the band of sulphide ore traverses the centre of the lode.
