Paeroa 1) ; total, 12 cases. Scarlet fever: City 2 eases, suburbs 4 cases (Newmarket 2, Onehunga 1. One Tree Hill 1), country districts 14 cases (Coromandel 3, Thames County 2, Waikato County 2, Waihi Borough 6, Avondale 1) ; totaL 20 cases. . A yxtehting accident is reported to have occurred in the Gulf on Sunday afternoon. Four young men left the North Shore in an open boat for a day's fishing. Just after leaving the boat capsized and the men were thrown into the water. They were rescued by the crew of the yacht Countess, who experienced considerable difficulty in getting the men on board the yacht owing to the heavy sea running. One of fishing party was very much exhausted.
There will be a crowd at Australia v. Auckland cricket match, but there is a bigger crowd of real good goods now offering at Geo, Fowlds, Victoria Arcade.—Ad.
