NEW ZEALAND MEAT SHOPS.
AN ENCOURAGING REPORT. (By Telegraph-—Own Correspondent) .CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Reports from the London office of the British-New Zealand Meat and Produce Distributing Gainpany are of a very encouraging character. At the time of .the departure of the last mail from London, six shops were open and doing satisfactory business, and arrangements had been made fox the immediate opening of others. The shops are attractive in appearance and popular with customers. The defrosEing process, the patent of which is the property of the company, is working -well, proving as applicable to beef as to mutton and lamb. Large consignments were being received regularly from Ha-wke's Bay, Wellington, and Canterbury for realisation, and the company's prospects are regarded as very satisiaetorv.
