ROAD BOARD MEETINGS.

ARCH HILL. The monthly meeting of the Arch Hill Road Board was held in the Board-room on Monday evening, February 6. Present: Messrs J. Jenkins (chairman), F. Rowe. Gentles, and C. Waddingham. A letter was read from the Cfaief Postmaster intimating that the new post office in the Arch Hill district would iv future be known as the Grey Lynn-Arch Hill. A request by the local fire brigade for a telephdne was not entertained. A request for water supply to the pottery works was deferred for further Inquiry. The chairman was requested to Inquire and report to next meeting what powers the Board had to prevent unsuitable buildings being put on the main road frontage. It was resolved that approaches to the various footbridges have immediate attentiou. Six new lamp-poffts were ordered from Messrs Beaney and Sou. MOUNT ALBERT. The ordinary meeting of the Mount Albert Road Board was held on Monday eveniug, there being present: Messrs J. 11. Harrison (chairman;, M. J. Coyle, F. Elisdou. and F. Evans. A large amount of routine business was attended to. and a number of applications for minor works were referred to the Works Committee. The Board's engineer reported that the waterworks contracts had been completed, and that the whole service was in good working order, and the water available for use: also ttrat the main road re-construc-tion contract was finished. Several applications for extensions of the water mains were referred to the engineer for his report thereon. Permission was granted for the suspension of the tram service on Good Friday to enable the employees to attend a picnic. The Board accepted dedication of two strips of land for a road to the Mount A!l>ert Domain. The collector reported receipts from rates etc. since last meeting to be £1770 0/8.
