Acceptances close to-night for the events at the Papakura meeting to be held on Saturday next. The Tfcranaki Jockey Club's Autumn Meeting commences to-morrow. There should be more than ordinary Interest centred in the gathering. The Taranaki Cup may he won by Armistice or Strathavon. Inniskillen and Golden Sands should each give a good account of themselves in the hack events. RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. After 4 o'clock this morning the weather clfrarcd, and about 5.30 the morning was perfect for training operations. All work w»s done on the outside grass track, which was very holding after yesterday's rain, jtgnalniun. with a big advantage in the Ve'.ghts, was a good match for Ca-nnie Chiel over a mile and a quarter, run in 2t.20. Tessera and Chryseis ran separately "five furIcngs round the back. Lady Wayward and Ordnance galloped from the mile and a qfuarter to the half-mile post, but fog presented these horses being timed. Ability Bui) sis furlongs in 1.22 with about 8.7 up, q fairly good performance. Golden Vein |tau seven fnrlougs iv 1.37 i. not doing his Itest. Somaroff and Natalie galloped six Surlongs round the back, the last four in 67J. Tirole (Derrert) easily beat Sea Lion (F. Thompson! over a mile and a quarter, run in 2.22 3-5. The latter shaped indif'fereutly. Quickrire held Czarcvna safe over six furiongs. run in 1.24. Pensive did the same distance round the back in 1.22—a good gallop. Stepdancer (F. Thompson )ran a mile aud a quarter alone, the first two furlongs In 27 1-5, four furlongs in 54 4-5, six furlongs in 1.23 1-5, and the full dis-
tance in 2.19. The little mare went welL Master Alix galloped six furlongs comfortably in 1.21. He had about 9st up. and was evidently lit. After breakfast Glenowlet had Gay Spark at her mercy over five furlongs up the back, run in 1.7 3-5. De la Rey, King's Guest, and Carle arrived, and were out cantering. There was "ttle to choose between Merrymaker and Prince Lorls at the end of a mile, run in l.»~ Ronga and Wet Blanket took 1.38 to run seven furlongs, both ail out. Manjcss spurted half a mile in 54 sec.
