A meeting of persons interested in the formation of a lodge of Druids at Ponsonby was held last evening in the Club Hotel. About thirty persons were present, Mr Alfred Kidd, D.P., of the Auckland Lodgp, was voted to the chair, and briefly explained the object for which the meeting *had been convened. After some further explanations of the benefits accruing from the Pruiu Order, it was resolved upon tho motion of Mr Townshend to form a Druid lod.ge at Ponsonby to be called the Ponsonby Lodge. A committee were then appointed to make preliminary arrangements. About 30 names were subscribed last evening. It was decided to leave the roll for two weeks at tho shop of Mr Henderson, chemist, near tho Three Lamps, in order that intending members may be afforded an opportunity to subscribe their namof. Tho meeting closed after a vote of thanks had been accorded the Chairman and Host Stanford.
