Newmarket Borough Council.
A special meeting ot the above body was hold last evening. ProEent; The Mayor (W. J. Suiter), Coancillors Bishop, Morgan, Edgcrly, Clayton, W'hieker, Taite, Kent, and Mason.
The Bv-ias. — The business of the special meeting waa the confirmation of the by-laws. The Mayor moved, " That the bylaws be passed." This was seconded by Cr. Taite. —An amendment wag moved by Cr. Whi'ker, "That 'clause 40 be expuniied." - The Mayor ruled this out of order. —Cr. Whisker then moved, "That tho consideration uf the by laws be deferred."—Seconded by Cr. Morgan. —It was conteodeel by Cr. Clayton that the word "occupied" should be erased from clause 77. —Alter considerable discussion tho motion confirming the by-laws was adopted.
