In the House of Representatives, Mr. O'Neill gave notice of question, What steps had been taken towards the construction of the Thames and Waikato railway, and what were the Government intentions in relation to that work ? _ Petition from Mr .Duder. Mr O'Rorke presented a petition from Mr Duder, sen., asking consideration on account of great age. Onehunga Wharf. In reply to Mr o'Korke, the Minister of Works stated that the Onehunga wharf was not sufficiently strong to bear the continuation of the railway to shipside, and even if strong enough its position is such thatjt would not be advisable to connect. Plans would be made for a new wharf suitable for such extension, and meantime all facilities would be given by the traffic manager and a small platform would be erected near the wharf for passengers..
