(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Wednesday. An Old Obstructionist Dead. Te Koakoa, the celebrated Hauhau chief, who during the late war directed their operations, is dead. His death will relieve the Government of much difficulty in procuring further additions of territory. Rise in Meat.—Suicide. Meat has risen Id per lb. Mr. Corbett, a carpenter, aged 70, hung himself yesterday in a fit of despondency.
