The Auckland cricketers arrived on Friday at mid-day after a beautiful passage. The team are ?H well.
The weather on Saturday was rainy, but the men had a good practice in the morning. The ground is in splendid condition. We shall play Canterbury on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday is to be a general holiday, and the Governor intends to be present.
The team is located at the Royal hotel. We went to the races on Friday. Lurline was the heroine of the meeting. Much regret h expressed that she did not visit Melbourne. People say she could not have lost the Cup,
