ATTACK ON A DWELLING.
We are sincerely sorry to learn that the peaceable character of our community has been compromised by the existence in our midst of some miscreant, who appears to have been born for the gallows. Last night a man came to the Pah farm, near Onehunga, where the family of Thomas Russell, Esq., has been staying during the summer. The man demanded admittance, and, on being .refused, fired a revolver again and again into the window, one of the balls having passed within a few inches of the head of Mr. Russell's eldest son. Unfortunately there was no man staying on the premises, Mr. Russell himself being absent in the city. For obvious reasons we refrain from any remarks on the subject, so as not to entangle the feet of justice.
