THE VOLUNTEER CHRONICLE.
No 1 Compp*fr Naval Volunteers paraded this morning at half-past 5, for drill at Fort Britomart. The Auckland College Cadets will meet for drill at half-past 0 this evening, in the Albert Barracks. Wo understand that J.M. Shera, Esq., has resigned his post as Captain of the Auckland Troop of Cavalry Volunteers. The Hobson Company Auckland Rifle Volunteers assembled in Albert Barracks on Saturday evening for drill. A full parade of the members of No 1 Company Naval Volunteers, is called for to-morrow morning at half-past 5, at Fort Britomart. , A number of the Cadets belonging to Nos 1 and 2 Company Naval Volunteers, paid a visit yesterday to H.M.S. Blanche. They were under the charge of SubLieutenant Wells, and were shewn over the vessel by the officers. On their departure they were presented with anumber of lanyards on which to sling their knives. Three officers of the Waikato Rifle Volunteers have challenged any three officers of Volunteer corps in Auckland, to fire a friendly match during next month.
