PRINCE OF WALES THEATRE.
On Saturday evening Mr Tavares appeared for tho last time before an Auckland audience, and played Macbeth. The character is one which should only be approached by an actor of the highest nowers. In inferior hands it loses all its interest and meaning. Mr Tavares has formed the truest conceptions ot the character, and his Macbeth _is a really magnificent impersonation, in every respect worthy of his fame, The unhappy Lady Macbeth was ably personated by Mrs Walter Hill-this lady s happiest effort being her somnambulisticrevealment of Duncan's murder. The rest of the characters were well sustained — the witches' chorus being very good, me execution of the music was also good. To-night, Signor Donato, the one-legged dancer, will make his debut at this theatre. MrHoskinsand Miss Colville will also appear: Mr Tavares opens at the Thames, where it is hoped his fine talent will meet with the appreciation it deserves.
