NAPIER.
January 4. Some Natives supposed to belong to Weka's pah have made a raid on Cashmore's premises at Big Bush. They tore up a tramway, doing considerable damage. Karaitiana had given Cashmore permission to cut timber, but the Supreme Court having dissolved the District Court's injunction in favour of Weka, he now defies the Court by taking the law into his own hands.
