POLICE COURT.
THIS DAY.
Before J. Baber and T. Oheeseman, Esquires, Justioes. DRUNKENNESS. Five inebriates were dealt with as usual. THBEATENING LANGUAGE. John McQuatters was charged by Joseph Patterson with threatening to stab him with a knife. Mr Inspector Broham asked for an adjournment, which was granted. The case will be heard on Saturday.. LABCENY. Maria or Martha Gray pleaded guilty to a chargo of stealing from the dwelling, house of Ei'nesfc Bieber a number of articles of jewellery and other things to the value of £10. Mr Broham informed the Bench that prisoner had been convicted on three previous occasions of similar offenceß. Sentenced to six months' imprisonment. George Parker was brought up on warrant charged with stealing from James Camp haberdashery to the value of £4 17s. He pleaded guilty to stealing some of the articles. As he had been previously convicted, the Benoh gave him the highest sentence in their power, which was six months' imprisonment with hard labor.
