VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
The first monthly inspection of the newlyformed Prince Alfred Light Horse Voluntoerg took place on Wednesday last, in the Albert Barracks. About twenty-five members were present, in command of Captain Smith, who, dressed in his new uniform and helmet, with white plumes, looked very like a Prussian " Uhlan" or English Lancer. The men were put through a number of evolutions by Adjutant Snell iv the presence of Major Gordon, who afterwards complimented them upon their creditable turn out, and impressed upon them the necessity of regular attendance at drill, and of coming up to all parades and inspections smart and clean. Considering that for the most part the horses are hacks belonging to livery stables, the movoments were exeouted very creditably, and give promise of better things in the future.
