PHRENOLOGY.
When Gall, and Spurzheim mapped out tlie human brain into sections, and asigued to eacb locality the distinctive care of particular thoughts and impulses, the daring of those innovators caused great comment, and the majority of ' savans scouted the newfangled doctrines. Butlater research/and the careful investigations and observations of scientific people, have shown clearly that,' although it may not be that the delicate orgau in question is absolutely divided into such segments, yet there is no doubt whatever that heads of similar configuration have similar propensities and proclivities. Whether the knowledge of the formation of a man's own brain is likely to lead him to cultirate such, qualities as he may appear to be deficient in, and to restrain such propensities as may be too protruberant, may be ■matter .of doubt ; Hiid whether any success is likely to follow sack effort, may be still more 'questionable. However this may be, it is certain that of late years there ; -;.>has beep a growing inclination on the part of the public to investigate, so far as possible, the iuterior arrangements of their own skull-caps; and to this end a host of phrenologists have given their attention. We perceive that, a gentleman who has carefully studred the..subject has taken his stand amqhg-us/SQ thut all who desire to know by submitting their crania to the manipulation of Mi". Wright, who has taken up a position at. the rooms of; the Young Men's Christian Association. Ho also purposes to deliver a lecture every Monday evening, in the hall of that institution, sothafc all may be enlightened on that highly interesting subject.
