MT/NiciPAfc Police Act.—Jno. Scarrot was chargedMvith allowing his horse to -wander aboi^Bhe*Btreets. —Case dismissed. Vagrant Act. — William Moore was charged with, a breach of the above Act. — Sentenced to one month's imprisonment, with hard labor.
Laeceny.—Susan Deneen was charged with, stealing a ring, value 90a, the property of Adam Orr.—Adara Orr, being sworn, deposed : I am proprietor of the Alexandra Hotel, Chapel-street. About the 3rd June I missed a ring. It was in the top drawer of the till in the bar. I cannot say whether prisoner was there. I next heard, a week ago, that it was pledged. I identify the ring produced ; ita^yalue is 90s. I gave no permission to take it'away.-^Benjamin Levr, sworn, said: I am au assistant to the firm of Noiimegan and Moses. I recollect prisoner coming to my place and pledging the ring produced. She stated that it belonged to her daughter, who bad sent her with it. I gave it to a lad named Edward Rule, on presentation of the ticket.—Edward Rule, sworn, said: I -went to Neuinegan and Moses with a ticket on Monday, 24th in si. I gaye the ticket for the ring now produced. I got the ticket from Mrs. Chapman.—Grace Chapman being sworn : I know the prisoner. I got a ticket from her about the commencement of last month. * She said it was her daughter's. I gave 2s to my boy with the ticket, anil he got the ring from the pawnbrokers. The Bench sentenced the prisoner to two months' imprisonment with hard labor
