TARANAKI.
July 10.—The weather here during the past fortnight has been dreadfully stormy.—Mr. Richmond moves a resolution in" the Provincial Council to assimilate the constitution of Taranaki to that of Hawko's Bay. July 13.—Mr. Richmond's resolution in the Provincial Council for the assimilation of the province of Taranaki to that of Hawke's Bay and Marlborough, so that the Superintendent can sit in the Provincial Council, was unanimously opposed by the members, and eventually the resolution was withdrawn by the proposor.—The a.s. Taranaki passed here without lauding cargo, the sea being too rough. The mails,' v ero, however, got off.— Another native meeting is to take place at Parialua shortly. This, the natives say, will bo the largest aver held in that district. A number of the Waikatos, it is said, will be present.
