THE CIRCUS
An afternoon performance was given at tho pavilion on Saturday, at two o'clock. It was, of course, specially intended for tho juvenile portion of the community, and the muster of little people, accompanied in most cases by parents or friends, was astonishing. There was quite a full house. The equestrian and pymnastic feats were of the usual kind, and admirably performed. I3ut unquestionably the most divert ing portion of the entertainment to the young people was tho appearance of the two men of awfu! longitude, and their quaint antics. The jokes of the clowns were good, and took well, and the • gracefulequestrianshipof Mdme'Bossie're especially drew forth prolonged applause from young and old. The performances of this company are really of an excellent class. They proceed to-day to tho Thames, where we have no doubt they will bo patronised very largely. After staying there for a time, the company will return to Auckland and re-opcu for a short time, during which we bave no douht they will achieve as much success as they have heretofore enjoyed.
