ROBBERY AT PARNELL.
Last night this usually quiet and well conducted suburb was the scene of a somewhat impudent robbery. It appears that the two daughters of Mrs. Smith, residing beyond St. Mary's, had gone to church, leaviug the house closed up. On one of tho young ladies returning, she knocked at front, and hearing a noiso within, towards the rear of the house, thought that her sister had returned before her. On receiving no reply, she remarked, " Ah, then I won't go round by the back," and proceeded to walk up I the street. After walking some distance she met her sister, and on their returning to tho house they found the back door open, and a large quantity of blankets, sheets, underclothing, &c, taken, in fact, the house gutted. One box, under a bad, alone nad escaped the burglars. No due, so far as we understand, h.as yet been discovered as to tho robbers, but we liavn no doubt the police will soon be able to give fin account of them.
