May I.—Messrs. Gregory's premises have been destroyed by fire ; the damage is estimated at £1000. The premises are insured.— Arrived : Lone Star, from Auckland-.
May 2.—Mr. Henry Parkes has arrived, and had an interview with the Government relative to flail's line of Galifornian steamers. —His proposals were not favorably received. —Mr. Richard" Farrington Jeffrey was wounded while out shooting, and is in a precarious state.—The quarter's revenue has increased by £4000.
