May !).—There was recently a heavy fall of rain throughout Iho colony, lasting, with lii.tle or no intermission, from the 27th April until the following Tuesday, when there was a favourable change. Kennedy assaulted Mr. David Buchanan, in King-street, and has since been committed to take his trial for the offence.— The project for an Academy of Art, in New South Wales, has been favorably entertained by the public and by the Press.—Mr. Qwist, of Hunter-street, lias just manufactured the Sydney Gold Cap for the forthcoming races. The form of thi 3 work of art is in that of a Grecian vase, chastely engraved and ornamented with Australian Mora in high relief. —Mr. W. Forster's Religious Opinions Bill was rejected by 37 to s.—The St. Leger was won by Lady Clifden.
