Dr. JEorne, Justices.] Drttxkf.xxf.ss.—C. Wamsfcadfc was fined, with the usuul alternative, for drunkenness. Neglected Child hex. — Catherine and Alex. McDonald, two young children of eleven and five years respectively, were sent to the Industrial School at Fort Britomart for one year. Pehjurt.—Henry Kennedy was charged by W. M. Hay with having committed perjury in the case of John Smith, heard on 23rd inst.—Mr. Wynn appeared for the- prosecution, and obtained a remand till Thursday next; bail allowed, defendant in £100, and two sureties in £50 each. Larceny.—L. Baker was charged with this offence, and on the application of AEr. Broham was remanded to Hamilton. Municipal Police Act.—The following persons were fined lor breaches of this Act : T. Bryan, ss; A. Senfert, 2s 6d; F. Howard, 2s Gd ; J. Allen, 2s 6d; W. Campbell, 2s 6d ; D. Dale, ss; «T. Lawlor, 5s j a. Giles, 2s 6d ; G-. Anson, 5s ; W. Burton, ss; E. Sandall, 5s ; J. Mills, 2s Gd ; M. Foley, 5s ; H. Kane, 5s j O. Williams, os ; S. Harris, 2s 6d; Mary M'Kean, 2s 6d ; Henry Probert, Is ; S. Uomock, 2s Gd ; H. Coburg, 2s 6d ; Catherine Burko and R. Seymour, 53. Licensing Act.—Laurence Robinson was charged by Sergeant Egan with allowing dancing and music in his licensed hotel. Mr. Wynn appeared for the defence. —Sergeant Egan deposed to the facts of the case, and admitted that defendant had said it was a private party to commemorate the birthday of his son. The hotel was closed at the tirre. Case dismissed. —The same defendant was charged with refusing to show his license when called on by the police.—Sergeant Egan i deposed I o the circumstances.—Cross-examined by Mr. Wynn.—He searched for the license but did not find it, and said he would show ifc in the morning.—Fined 5s and costs. — Daniel Moore of the Alexandra Hotel, was charged with having music and dancing in his licensed hotel with the permission.— Mr. Beveridge for the defendant, Sergeant Egan deposed to the facts of the case, and on cross-examination said that defendant had said that he had only a faw friends, keeping his wife's birthday.—Case dismissed. — Walter Dudley was charged with the same I offence. —Mr. Wynn for the defence, denied thab there was any dancing, but simply playing the piano in a private room. Assault.—P. Duffy was charged by GL 11. Johnston with assault.—All the parties being on the p. s. G-olden Crown, and only lately summoned, the case was on the application of Mr. Beveridge adjourned tiil Monday.
