DISTRICT COURT.—TUESDAY.
[Before Thomas Beckham, Esq., District Judge.] The Court resumed at half-past, ten o'clock this morning. Winding- Up Companies. — A butch of these cases came before the Court, and the various shareholders were called upon to show cause why they should not pay their fair share of contribution, for the purpose of winding up their companies. Mr. Recs appeared on behalf of the official agent. In the case of the Metropolitan Company, Mr. Peter Joseph Daitou objected on behalf of his son, who was a minor. Tlio name was struck out. The usual -order was male in the case of the other shareholders. — In the Moniezuma G-old Mining Company, William Aitken objected to be assessed on the ground that, he was not a shareholder. There was evidently a mistake in the name, which was accordingly struck out. — The usual order was made also in the case of the following companies : Atlantic, Day Spring, General St. Hutu. California Route —in this casn Mr. MeTntyre from the Thames applied on behalf of Major Cooper to have his name struck Oatof the schedule, on the ground that he had transferred his shares. But as it appeared that the transfer was made after the company had (rone into the official agent's office the application was not granted. —Major Cooper was also mulcted in the costs, £3 93. Od.—Koh-i-noor, Compass-rmd-Square, Clydesdale, Colonial Hope.—ln this case Mr. J. B. Russell appeared for Mrs. Cashell, but the Court refused to hear him, as he was not wearing his robes. Mr. Eees then appeared for Mrs. Cashell. and her name was struck out. The schedule was then confirmed ; also in the case of the British, Rough Diamond, Lord Nelson, Atlas. [Left sitting.
